Impact of US Shale Gas and Liquids on the Refining Sector

  • Recent years have witnessed a significant increase in the production of shale gas in the US, fundamentally changing the natural gas supply and gas demand situation. There is no longer  the need to import Liquid Natural Gas (LNG), and the long-term outlook for U.S. natural gas exports is enhanced. Cheap gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) has also led to the recovery of the these materials as feedstocks in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
